The Maddie James Foundation was established to memorialize Maddie and her love of the ocean. In May 2011, the foundation succeeded in raising $1 million to have the Seaside Learning Center at the Ocean Institute named after Maddie. Construction on The Maddie James Seaside Learning Center will begin in the fall of 2011.
